I am fifteen years old am 5ft 8in tall and weigh 12st 8lb. I really need exercise and diet tips. I have just had enough of looking like a fat weirdo. I don’t want any suggestions of pills or supplements just good old fashioned exercise and diet thanks.

The key to starting a successful diet plan is to make the changes slowly. You can’t go from eating garbage everyday to eating healthy overnight. The changes required to do something like that are huge and should be spread out over a period of time. If you make the changes too quickly, your body won’t have time to adjust and you’ll probably quit before seeing any results.
At first, you shouldn’t worry about your calorie count. When you start replacing unhealthy junk with healthy alternatives your calorie count will naturally be reduced because healthy choices are generally lower in calories than unhealthy ones. Start by reducing the amount of junk you eat (chips, cookies, pastries, doughnuts, soda, sugary drinks). Replace unhealthy snacks with nuts, fruits, salads and yogurt.
You can then start getting rid of products made from refined flour such as white bread/pasta. Replace these with foods made from 100% whole wheat flour (check the nutrition label). The difference in the two flours is that whole wheat contains more fiber (and vitamins & minerals) which slows down the digestion process. This will keep you full for a longer period of time which will help you eat less throughout the day. Other foods that are high in fiber are fruits, vegetables, oats, beans and legumes.
Eventually, you will need to start monitoring your calorie intake. Losing weight depends on you eating less than you burn. If you’re not losing weight, the problem is that you’re either eating too much, exercising too little or a combination of both. I’m not in bad shape,but lower body needs toned and I just purchased an elliptical trainer. I want eat right but it is so expensive being a vegetarian unless i want salad everyday. Any tips on low cost (i’m a college student) recipes or snacks for an ovo-lacto vegetarians?

You may be eating a lot of bread to compensate for the lack of meat. Why not eat diet yogurt and bulky fruit (such as bananas and apples) as snacks?
Eating corn can take off weight and fat as a staple food. Try making cornbread, or eating corn on cob itself.

Hey it’s worked for me, I’ve lost 15 lbs in 2 months….eat more fish! I have started eating tuna fish & crackers for lunch everyday w/ fruit and water and it just keeps coming off! Good luck, I know how it feels to stuggle!

working out and eating raw foods, lots of fruits and veggies, but don’t starve yourself because that will just slow down your metabolism and make you gain more wait. running is the best exercise and it gives great abs

I am a strong and sexy woman in my 20′s and I just recently moved and started a new life in a new city. I am starting at the local university and my life is heading a a great direction. There is just one problem. Due to stress from things that have been happening in my life for the last few years I have gained 30 plus lbs. I am worried about my health because I have a history of heart problems, strokes, and diabetes among other things in my family. People in my family pass at 65 or so usually. I have been thinking and since the rest of my life is going in the right direction, I would like to get my weight and health going that way also. I guess what I am looking for is any motivation, weight loss tips, or personal stories any one would like to share with me. Drink 4 oz of water before , during and after each meal..It’s amazing how much weight you can lose and water is great for you.
